QUESTION: What Happens In A Democratic Country, (Australia) when OUR FREE DOMS, are Gradually and yet Oh So Surely ERODED!!!

What we as a nation have just witnessed is, an Innocent Man, Who Has Done Nothing Wrong, thrown in Gaol, Because Power Hungry People, Make Truly Frightening Laws, which are contrary to the Well Being of a Free and Open Society in A Western Democracy.

And Guess What, those same DODGY Power Hungry, Megalomaniacs, Kevin Andrews, Phillip Ruddock and John Howard, have got even more frightening laws on the way!

Last Friday, I spoke to Dale Clapperton, the chairman of Electronic Frontiers Australia, (EFA) in a very broad philosophical manner about certain interesting events that, I had observed since the rapid growth in traffic of my blog Dodgypress.com.au

We had a brief discussion about the work of EFA, here in Australia, and indeed, the paramount importance of its recent campaign. Please take the time to go to www.efa.org.a

I shall in coming weeks, speak to more experts in this area, and cast further light on the chilling draconian implications of the federal liberal government’s NEW Electronic Spying Legislation.

I started this article today, with a question, which was “what happens in a democratic country, when our FREEDOMS, are eroded on the sly in a very, very gradual manner???

UPDATE: I planned this article last week, and I wrote this last night without thinking that the mainstream press, would come to the party. It now seems that they have, read it here

I got this chilling excerpt from the above Sydney Morning Herald article and it states,

“For the first time it (new law) also allows foreign police and intelligence agencies to take part in undercover operations and use false identities”

What the!!!! does that mean the CIA, can come here and run amuck, with impunity?????

SO if I attack, both American Foreign Policy, and George Bush, on my website, …the CIA, can actually come to my country, then into my home, and SPY on me, without any Legal CHECKS and BALANCES ????

   The answer to your question and the question a lot of us here are starting to finally ask is HOW far are we willing to go for our so called security? Is this just a case of blatant paranoia or fear mongering by a state led by a PM who is becoming too in love with his own power? So we lose our freedom - and imprison ourselves in our own delusional fears of everything and anyone that apears different. Nice article on Clover. Whats her story?

   Thank you for coming by, In my very humble opinion

   Conservative Power Structures (ie US Republican Party/Aus Liberal Party) Have as their hall mark, straight from central casting, these very unsubtle pre-programmed Self Sustaining fear driven Campaigns. However for their continued success, several key structural elements have to be in place

   We can counter these, programmes in so many different ways. For Example the union movement is at the moment using one such effective way.

   I am on the other hand very optimistic. For I know that our fellow Australians, are on the whole, not mugs.

   As for Clover, god knows what she was thinking, if she keeps that rubbish up, she won’t last.
