Dodgypress is very impressed with Kevin Rudd’s early progress on the national stage
From his very first act in signing the Kyoto Protocol, to this latest policy on the homeless. One does feel hugely excited about the direction in which the country is going. Finally Real Leadership and Power is being displayed in the manner it ought to be, in a Unifying Visionary Way. Historically Great Countrys, have have always started with Visionary Leadership.

The previous despicable occupant of the office of prime minister proved that any simpleton can manage a booming export driven minerals economy, and yet fail so miserably at the only bench mark that matters in life. Creating and Sustaining A sense of Community, yes Community Building or Nation Building takes far more Imagination and Intellectual capability. Any idiot can hold a press  conference and regurgitate, George Bush’s policy on world affairs (sic)

This fool (John Howard) showed how easy it was to run the joint from one pathetic sound byte to the next. The Shock Jocks, were the ones really running the country. He took his whole playbook from their daily modus operandi. Appealing on a daily basis to peoples lesser, baser emotions. He left a legacy of utter, petty divisiveness and devastation right through the strata of society.

John Howard’s ideological mean spiritedness, simply knew no bounds, so much so, even the poor, were fair game. The Sydney Morning Herald recently uncovered systematic instances of Department of Employment and Workplace Relations spending millions pursuing litigation against welfare recipients, often for minor payment errors, leaving some destitute. And he did this with my hard earned tax money, I mean WTF!!!

The icing on the cake for me was when I opened last weekend’s edition of the SMH, and saw on the front page, Kevin Rudd’s new National Security strategy…the lines below caught my attention, and I thought to myself, now thats a whole new world, with a whole new beginning.

“The Government will consider putting more resources into building relationships with vulnerable local communities rather than solely pumping more funds into intelligence agencies”

So Kevin 07, Keep On Keeping On.

   I think Sarah is right, it is like waking up in heaven. The first few weeks after the election were like being in a fantastic dream, but now the reality has set in. The reality of a government whose interest in the Australian people as society rather than a piggy-bank to help pay for outdated ideological hobby-horses.

   Gold sticker for Mr Rudd!
