Obviously, I could not let this week go by without mentioning The Rudd’s little ’social discrepency’, since everyone has been going on about it for days. In case you’ve been living under some sort of rock, with no media contact of any kind, or contact with any other human beings at all for that matter, the situation is Keven Rudd has admitted to visiting a strip club in New York…four years ago.

 A grown man, visiting a strip club. A politician who isn’t actually as wholesome as he is trying to make us believe. Oh. My. God. HOW SHOCKING. What do we do??? Oh, Little Johnny MUST win the election now, we cannot have such a morally loose HEATHEN running our country, we just can’t!

Seriously people, when are we going accept the fact that our politicians are human, too? Granted, Kevin was on a business trip funded by the hard-earned dollars of Aussie taxpayers when he made his ’special’ visit, but honestly, I reckon we should really just give the guy a break. Like it or not, politicians make less than perfect judgement calls in their personal lives just like the rest of us (The number of less than perfect judgement calls they make in their professional lives is not an issue I choose to delve into here). Aren’t we always looking for proof that politicians are real people, not just manipulative robots from Planet Egomania? Well here’s the proof people! This whole incident demonstates that Kevin Rudd is as normal as you and I, and for that, I think we should be relieved. And besides, shouldn’t we be more concerned by the fact that this story was possibly leaked by none other than Foreign Minister Alexander Downer? How pathetic is that? Talk about playing dirty.

Keep your minds open, people.

   The Pollies personal lives do not reflect their professional careers. Seriously, who cares what they do out of the office??! Alexander Downer, GET A LIFE!
