Malcolm Turnbull is Good for Democracy, watch out Kevin!!!

I have never ever in my voting life voted for the liberal party of Australia. Never Have….However, NSW labor and its crazy contempt for my rights and its rampant corruption has really forced me to examine what my core values are as a Progressive voter.

Federally John Howard’s lasiez faire approach to humanity made life really easy in that sphere.

However in NSW, where I have happily made my home, it has been really really tricky. Costa, Iemma, Tripodi and Obeid, collectively have made an absolute mockery of democratic institutions within New South Wales. They have turned the workers party into carpet bagger central. Anyone with a bag of money, and I mean anyone could and can get whatever they want done, provided the necessary premiums are paid.

I feel a tinge of regret for Nathan Rees, in another time, someone like him, would make an admirable Premier. His story is a great Australian Story to Tell, and indeed the ABC, should line him up asap as I truly feel that his time in the Premiership slot, will be very limited.

Unfortunately for him, The same core corrupt elements who were/are part of both Bob Carr’s and Iemma’s corrupt regime are still there and guess what the voters already know it. There is no where to hide!

I feel that at the next election, the Greens are going to kick some massive goals, and possibly in alliance with the Liberal Party. Which would really be something. In a funny way Costa and Electricity Privatisation proponents, have helped facilitate this process, this evolution/paradigm shift with the blue collar worker and his/her psyche is very cool. It would not have been possible in the past however because of Electricity Privatisation, and also some hard community work by the NSW Greens and John Kaye, they (the greens) will reap the wind fall. It is going to be massive. People have had an absolute Gutful.

Federally with Malcolm a relative clean skin at the helm, the Liberal party are going to make matters difficult for Kevin Rudd and Co. Malcolm is demonstrably smart, and it is very clear. If Kevin is not too careful, he could be a One Termer.

This new development is always for my mind an excellent thing for democracy. The reason John Howard got away with murder was due to the fact that the federal opposition at the time were impotent. I have always liked Malcolm, however whether my fellow citizens from the voting punditry will agree remains to be seen.

We cannot and must not as a country, let ruling Governments whether they be Liberal or Labor get too complacent and act as if they were rulers and we mere subjects. NEVER AGAIN!
