Seismic Changes Over at the Footy Show

There are very few shows on commercial television that I will publicly admit to enjoying. The Footy Show, on Channel Nine, is one of ones I thoroughly enjoy, and will tell the world about. I absolutely love watching that show. Every Thursday night, without a doubt, come hail, rain or shine, you will find me on the couch in front of the soap box, eating it all up. LOVE IT!!!

Am not sure what about it gets me in, I mean, these lads are absolute yobbos!!! But man, are they Entertaining!!!

In the last few weeks though, I have noticed that Matty Johns seems in a very subtle manner, to be slowly taking over Fatty Vautins pre-eminence on the show. Being a Queenslander, I have always enjoyed the fact that Fatty Vautin, made sure that we got a good hearing. Now that he is being slowly moved out to pasture, all those days are over.

On the flip side, it is good to finally see a generational change taking place, and let’s face it, there were times when the fat man blew his own horn one time too many.

I have always felt that, the only true real football legend out of all the League identities on the show, was Peter Sterling. Sterlo was a giant of the game and a genius on the paddock. One just has to listen to his analysis on any given sunday, to realise that his sharpness of mind is still there.
