Straight Talking Father Chris Riley: Resign Pell you Tool!…and I have Changed my Mind

Father Chris Riley finally spoke the words so many people in our country have wanted to hear for so long. To get a slice of that good stuff, go and read this articles from uncle Rupert’s paper 

Here is what Father Riley stated tonight on “A Current Affair”"Towards Healing, to me, I have to say, is a joke,” he said.

“The perpetrator is the only winner there because often they are not charged, because it (the case) is settled.

“This is obscene, settling those sort of cases behind closed doors,” Father Riley said.

“It should be out in the court, and then if they (victims) want to deal with the church, we then do that after the person is … found guilty, and my position is, jailed for a long time.

“Then, if they want to go to the church, let’s heal them then, but get justice first.”

On a lighter note, I have changed my mind about World Youth Day!!!

Yes I am still signed onto the facebook group that says that Catholic Youth Day it sucks however, after encountering alot of these young idealistic happy, passionate young people around the city, I kinda feel inside me that, Yes it is important to inspire the young, and why not about…for want of a better word…Ideals and Doing Good!!!

I remember watching, I think it was the 7:30 report or some Aunty program this week, about some of the missionary catholic orders that are almost on the verge of extinction, and the very real need they have for revitalisation that new energy and talent would bring. These orders do so much great work in both the first and third worlds, and 99.9 percent unheralded.

Who knows maybe the odd 5 or 10 young ones may sign up,if not I hope that a significant generation get inspired to change this troubled, splintered world that we live in.
