What Does the Labor Party Stand For in 2008: Rich Bankers and Expensive Electricity Bills or Working Families…

What does the modern day Australian Labor Party in the state of New South Wales Stand For in the year 2008? I for one am very, very confused.

Do they care about the plight of working families, and the daily grind that can be part of living in the 20’s in Sydney Australia or is it a case of corporations stealing the soul of the labor party.

Has the Labor Party has sold its soul to the highest bidder? Does Macquarie Bank, XYZ Rich Bank, down the road or some other Foreign Global Multinational Corporation, now decide what is the right and proper conditions under which the working family has to labour and toil?

Morris Iemma Laughing at your Pain

I honestly do not give a shait, what the Australian Labor Party, the Workers’ Party (sic…) does with its soul, however what I do care about is a bunch of Dodgy Politicians purporting to represent the interests of the common hard working family , then blatantly appearing in public and doing exactly the opposite.

So here we are January 25th 2008, facing the prospect of a Labor Government in the state of New South Wales, selling off the Golden Goose (Public Owned Electricity Generators), and for what purpose and to what end.

I can look you in the face and tell you right now whats going to happen. And do you know why, I can readily do that? Its rather easy really, history has so many painful examples of Governments all around the world and indeed here at home, naively thinking that by selling (privatising) their tax payer owned utilities (water and electricity), they could at the end of the day, come up with cheap prices for both water and electricity for the taxpayers.

This flawed logic has been found to be publicly and painfully not true. Michael Costa, and Morris Iemma, expect us to conveniently forget that corporations are about making lots of money all the time. The word Enron comes to mind.

Instead the ordinary working family has been reduced to a life of constantly choosing between which expensive bill to pay, at the end of the fortnight.

“Do I really need fruits and vegies for the kids, or should we worry about the power being cut off”.

“The interest rates have gone up again, should we forget paying the already overdue electricity this month, so that we can maintain the mortgage payments”

This is not theory, this is reality, this conversation is occurring as we speak in NSW Labor Party Hearland.
